Avast Ye Swabs! Fans have waited for an all new comic book featuring Popeye for over 30 years (not counting the Ocean Comics wedding issue that was based on the live-action movie starring Robin Williams!). Leave it to our boy Yambar and his friends George Broderick Jr. and Ken Wheaton to make that happen! This comic book premium was created exclusively for the town of Chester, Illinois to promote Popeye's 80th Anniversary and the town's 30th annual Popeye Picnic celebration. Yambar writes the entire adventure while George and Ken each illustrate their own half. The first section features the modern Popeye as he travels back to the days before his birth and gets a tour of his hometown by noneother than Thimble Theater creator, Elzie C. Segar. After meeting his real life inspiration, Rocky Feigle , Popeye returns to take his whole gang to the big party in Chester. Olive, Wimpy, Swee' Pea, Bluto, Sea Hag, Jeep, Alice the Goon, the Whiffle Hen, Castor, Rough House, and Pappy are all on hand! The book also includes center page pin-ups by current Sunday page artist Hy Eisman and long time Charlton Comics Popeye artist, George Wildman. Wow! (Hey! Where's Cathy Rinne?!) Here's the kicker: THIS COMIC PREMIUM WILL NOT BE SOLD IN STORES! You can only get it from Chester, Illinois or directly from us. (Published by CLI 2.0 / Premium Pop.)
